"7th-grade students explored science and technology in a fun and educational way with Luísa Arruda, a researcher from LIP."
As part of the initiative Ciência Viva: Space Goes to School, LIP researcher Luísa Arruda delivered two lectures at Escola EB 2/3 D. Dinis in Odivelas, aimed at 7th-grade students. These sessions were designed to spark scientific curiosity and encourage younger generations to explore careers in science and technology.
The first lecture, held on October 9th, and the second on October 21st, both titled To Infinity and Beyond!... but Safely!, aimed to capture the students' attention with a scientific perspective on space and its exploration, always focusing on safety and technology issues.
This collaboration with schools is an essential part of LIP's outreach mission, which is dedicated to inspiring and educating new generations, promoting scientific training for both students and teachers. LIP researchers, like Luísa Arruda, actively participate in various scientific outreach initiatives, sharing their knowledge of particle physics and related areas in lectures at schools, cultural centers, and other learning spaces.
